What We Do: NBSP is a constituted non profit group based in Portswood, Southampton, who are working to achieve maximum benefits for local residents and feed back regular updates to the local community. We are working alongside the Southampton City Council and the Police with regard to any projects to improve the area. Our current project is to develop a Portswood Community Wildlife Garden and to work along City Council on stage three of the redevelopment of Portswood Recreation Ground.

Services Offered: *ONE BIG COMMUNITY – bringing together people from different communities and cultures.
  • Caring about our community
  • Regenerate community spirit by involving people in the creation of the Community Wildlife Garden on the former diagnostic site on the corner of Brickfield Road.
  • Improving the surrounding area within our community and the wider area, through visible projects eg neighbourhood watch, involvement in the redevelopment of Portswood Recreation Ground, Newsletter as a forum
  • The Community Wildlife Garden aimed at safeguarding an open space which the community/other groups can utilise for promoting education healthy lifestyle, including the importance of a balanced diet, food hygiene and safety. This garden will be accessible to all members of the community with special regard to disabled groups/elderly/ blind/young children, Provide educational resources for the local primary school, encourage wildlife and a place where people can come to relax/unwind and feel safe.
  • Members of the community will be involved in the design/development of these projects.
  • These projects also aims as core objectives to benefit the wider environment and in so doing improve everyone’s quality of life for generations to come.
  • Raise the profile of the Community Wildlife Garden, both to people living in other parts of the city and to agencies working within the city.
  • To seek assistance, support and advice when required, from appropriate organisations and individuals in order to promote/sustain the community wildlife garden.
  • Working closely with Southampton City Council and local police/pcso’s to improve the wider area of Portswood.
