Also, from October 2010 - New day service for young people and adults age 16+ The QE2 Centre in Bursledon will be starting a day service for adults (age 16+) with learning disabilities who want to be doing something purposeful with their days.

A full programme will be offered based around developing work skills, independent living skills and recreation & leisure. There will be a market garden to run, gardening and woodland management to do, recycling and basic workshop activities. Young adults will be work on communication and numbers, cooking and computers plus there’ll be time to take part in leisure and creative activities. If this sounds like your kind of thing contact the QE2 Activity Centre to find out more.

Session times: 9:30 – 3:30, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Tuesday and Thursday after January 2010).

Staffing: The staff ratio will be 1:4, staff will be appropriately skilled and CRB checked.

Programme: The QE2 Centre will work with you to find out what you’re good at, and what you would like to get better at. They will develop your existing skills and help you learn new ones.
