Southampton A.D.H.D Awareness Support Group

Name of Organisation: Southampton A.D.H.D Awareness Support Group
Headline: ADHD support for adults and children
What We Do: File:QuestionnaireADHD-ITV.doc

This is a ADHD support group (diagnosed or undiagnosed) Our group is the only one of its kind set up in hampshire !!

AADD are campaigning for adult ADHD awareness all over the UK and we are doing our bit to cover Southampton. As it stands at the moment there are NO adult ADHD services in or near Southampton!! However, there are over 100 children diagnosed with ADHD in Southampton alone. Facts from ADDISS suggest ADHD symptoms will continue in one third to one half of these children in to adulthood this is cause for concern for parents up and down the country..

Services Offered: ADHD is a neurobiological condition that will run in families therefore we believe there are many undiagnosed /untreated adults in the UK.

as well as the ones fighting for diagnoses or treatment.

In many cases, ADHD if treated with a combination of medication, coaching and therapy can even become an asset for the person affected but untreated can cause mayhem to say the least.

There are many parents who are not only struggling with there children's ADHD behaviour but so are the teachers, social workers, police, angry parents and neighbours its terribly unfortunate that an untreated child can cause a great deal of upset for everyone involved not to mention the child who is suffering.
