Southampton Steps to Wellbeing Service is an NHS service for people registered with a Southampton City GP offering evidence based treatment for people experiencing mild to moderate depression and anxiety based problems. We are a self-referral service which means you can contact us directly to access our services.

The Southampton Steps to Wellbeing Service comprises of three teams: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapists (also known as CBT therapists) and an administrative support team. We are based at Grenville House in the centre of Southampton but have clinics throughout the city.

We do not provide treatment for severe and complex depression/anxiety, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, bipolar (formerly manic depression), drug or alcohol problems which require specialist services or for clients who are suicidal or engage in significant deliberate self-harm. If you experience one of these problems please speak to your GP who can make a referral to the most appropriate service. Please also speak to your GP if you have any queries regarding medication.

If you feel that you, or someone else, is at immediate risk of harm please contact the police on 999.
